We are very excited to be hosting the very first Christchurch Conversation on 25th October this year at Twynham School. There is an enormous amount to celebrate with all that is already happening in our town, but there is still much more we can do even better - together!
The Conversation brings together our public services, elected representatives, local charities, faith groups, and businesses all working in and for the great Christchurch area. Imagine what could e achieved by getting all of those folk who are passionate about BH23 together under one roof for a conversation - which then leads to some action.
It will celebrate what is already happening here, identify where there are gaps in provision and collectively look for solutions for the issues facing us as a community. Some of these will be common to all communities - including issues around loneliness and social isolation, mental health, and transport, but potential solutions will vary as communities have their individual strengths and resources. One of the biggest needs in all communities today is the need for more hidden heroes, folk who are willing to give their time to serve others.
It is timely for such a conversation given the changes with Local Government Reorganisation. What are the things we value about Christchurch? those things we most want to preserve: but also what is missing that we as a community can make happen?
Keep an eye on our website for further details either for attending (or volunteering!!!).
The other news is that a date is now confirmed for "Christchurch Soup" and "2018 Volunteer of the year Award": Friday 29th March 2019 at Mudeford Wood Community Hall - watch this space for more information.
