Community Form
24th April 2018
at
St Joseph's Church Hall.

"Community Transport "

There will also be an update on the Magistrates Court/Police Stations site and the developers are keen to hear the community's views so come along and share yours.

Please note that the topic has changed slightly due to unforeseen circumstances - "Christchurch Transport and Travel" will be discussed at a later forum this year.

Christchurch Community Forum

The Christchurch Community Forum aims to bring together individuals, groups, businesses and other organisations so that they can network together for the good of the community as a whole.

The Forum acts as a catalyst.  It facilitates the growth of this network without taking on any of the administration or oversight of any projects that result.  Discussion, between groups that don’t often meet,  can evoke a common idea or aim; it may then become possible to deliver a more inclusive and wide-ranging approach to community projects and welfare.

The Christchurch Community Partnership also seeks to explore whether through working more closely and sharing lessons, the volunteering experience itself here in Christchurch can be improved and the generous offer of volunteers themselves can be used most effectively.

It is our aim is to increase volunteering in Christchurch, to improve the volunteering experience and to maximise the utilisation and potential of this resource for the benefit of everyone in Christchurch. There is no doubt that volunteering has great benefits for both the community and the volunteer.

The Forum meets quarterly and is open to all organisations and individuals who wish to support volunteering and community activities and to discover more about them.  It is also an opportunity to display information on the activities and need for volunteers,  and on occasions, to give brief presentations about the work.
