News, projects and plans

CCP is a busy place to be right now. We have plans and projects for the whole of 2024, each one aimed at eradicating social isolation in the Christchurch area. With our fabulous new minibus, we hope to organise more outings over spring and summer. We have now launched our new Thursday Lunch Club and Sunday Roasts, and we are seeing more and more people come to our increasingly popular Coffee Connections mornings. We are also supporting NHS Dorset in a new research project whilst working with local individuals and organisations bringing exercise classes, music and games to local community members in need of social interaction.

Loneliness kills, let's work together to wipe this out.

New seated exercise classes launch at Bure House

April 2024

Take a seat! We are delighted to announce that CCP is now hosting seated exercise classes at Bure House.

Led by our wonderful qualified instructor Sara, the weekly classes bring residents and non-residents together to enjoy some gentle exercise and good company.

The classes were specially requested by Bure House residents, but non-residents have also been able to attend thanks to our fantastic new bus and fabulous volunteers.

Those attending tell us the classes are great fun and they feel the benefit – and one attendee even shared that she no longer falls as she used to.

CCP, BCP & BU collaborations

We were delighted to participate with Bournemouth University and BCP Council in a project researching 'hidden hunger' - the report makes very interesting reading.

The long awaited report on the 2nd Christchurch Conversation which brought together over 100 individuals representing 47 organisations can now be accessed via this link.
