CCP says a huge thank you during Volunteers Week 2026!

As part of Volunteers' Week, we want to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who support Christchurch Community Partnership (CCP).

Our volunteers give their time, care and energy to help people across our community, and we simply couldn’t deliver our services without them. From coffee mornings and lunch clubs to exercise classes, transport and office support, volunteers play a vital role in helping people feel connected, supported and less alone.

In 2025, 76 regular volunteers gave an incredible 3,430 hours of their time to support our work.

Much of this support took place through our popular lunch clubs and Sunday Roasts, where volunteers contributed 2,264 hours helping people come together to enjoy good food and company. Volunteers also gave 624 hours supporting our exercise classes, helping local people stay active, healthy and connected.

We’re also incredibly proud of the positive feedback shared by volunteers themselves. In a recent survey:

  • 100% of respondents said volunteering with CCP is enjoyable and worthwhile

  • 100% said the volunteering experience is welcoming and inclusive

  • 97% said volunteering is flexible and that they receive appropriate training and support

  • 91% said they feel valued and appreciated as a volunteer

One volunteer said:

“I really enjoy the volunteering role and find it very rewarding helping those who are isolated or lonely to socialise in their community.”

Rev Sandra Prudom, CEO of Christchurch Community Partnership, said:

“Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at CCP. Their kindness, compassion and generosity make a real difference to people across our community every single day. Whether they are offering a warm welcome at a lunch club, helping someone get to an activity, or simply taking the time to chat and listen, their support helps people feel connected and cared for. We are so grateful for everything they do and want to say a heartfelt thank you to every one of our volunteers this Volunteers’ Week.”

If you’re interested in joining our friendly volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you. Find out more in the Volunteering section of the CCP website.
